Local Spotlight: Horizon E81

Horizon Yachts set to impress with its high-volume E81 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

Keeping up with the times

Stepping into the classical yet contemporary wooden interior, owners will enjoy the spacious home away from home onboard their new Horizon E81 by Horizon Yacht. Founded in 1987, Horizon has delivered over 855 luxury yachts, with the manufacturer developing on client feedback to offer yachts tailored to the needs of cruising at sea.

The yacht has an open plan layout and features an expansive salon with a galley and country kitchen. Fitted with two-toned white/silver oak, light quartz surfaces and contemporary accents, the kitchen, like in your family home, will soon be the communal gathering area for entertaining — the E81 holds up to 12 passengers. The entertaining will continue out onto the roomy deck area which has two bars with dining and lounging on the foredeck for those days relaxing while watching the waves.

What’s more, the E81 is also available in enclosed bridge or open bridge configurations. The expansive open bridge is protected by a hard top and a fixed glass windshield to protect from the elements. The helm has twin chairs with a large, U-shaped couch facing a bar with four bar stools to port, meaning the driver can still enjoy spending time with passengers when driving.

The design is in line with the sleek E Series superstructure profile common with others in the range, one of the oldest and most popular series within Horizon. Need rooms changed around for additional family members? When enquiring, owners can put forth their individual needs to customise the interior layout to their liking. As is, the vessel’s 6.25-metre beam allows for up to four spacious staterooms and a variety of engine models can also be chosen from without compromising on performance or draft. For example, if requested, one of the staterooms can be changed into a full-beam master suite and an office/library. Especially with the increase of boat owners in the past year, the added flexibility accommodates the variety of boat owners, whether it would be an owner-operated or crewed vessel.

The E81 is equipped with twin Onan 29kW generators and twin CAT C-32 engines, offering enhanced power out on the water which is further supported by bow and stern thrusters and Zero Speed stabilisers. Keeping apace with technological advancements, the Wireless Yacht Controller enables the vessel to be remotely docked.
