XO Boats DFNDR 9

The newest vessel from XO Boats — the DFNDR 9 — provides seaworthiness and versatility at full speed

Finnish boating company XO Boats has launched its newest model, taking form in the DFNDR 9. The model is XO’s first centre console vessel for overnight use, making it a great multipurpose boat — especially with the extensive customisation owners can explore.

DFNDR 9’s open cabin structure allows owners to enjoy pleasant weather conditions, yet the option of walls also provides shelter from harsh weather should it arise. This means the vessel has a variety of uses — from water skiing and fishing to day cruising and challenging adventures. Further customisation can be found with aft deck and bow areas which convert into large sunbeds, while, if desired, owners can enjoy a comfortable overnight stay onboard with the private head and two berths.

The two Mercury 225 V6 engines mean the boat can reach top speeds of up to 50 knots, while the XO military-grade aluminium structure and deep-V hull design makes the DFNDR 9 a great professional use or even superyacht chase boat. As the alloy used for the hull is 57 per cent stronger than regular aluminium, with a hull thickness of 8mm on the keel and 5mm on the sides, the vessel is built for tough conditions and is the ultimate embodiment of seaworthiness. It also features a window wiper, a roof hatch window, Lenco Marine trim tabs, hydraulic steering, carbon film hull accents and two full suspension seats. Available in jet black or icy white, owners can decide whichever look they want to go for.
