Spotlight: Azimut 72 Fly

The first of its Flybridge Collection to be built using a double technology, the Azimut 72 brings together design innovation for optimal usage

Azimut Yachts has stepped it up a notch with its release of the Azimut 72. This yacht combines elegance with innovation and state-of-the-art construction techniques. Its hull and deck are made from moulded fibreglass, while the flybridge and deckhouse are made of pure carbon fibre. This has reduced the weight by close to 30 per cent and has allowed for more extensive deck surfaces and more room inside the yacht.

Owners will enjoy the four cabins — a master, VIP, and two guest cabins, one of which is a double — each with their own ensuite. The master takes up the entire beam at the centre of the boat and has the typical full glass vertical window openings. The master ensuite is placed aft to soundproof the master from the machine room. Owners will also find the vast and sun-protected flybridge of over 37sqm highly versatile for their relaxation and entertainment needs, while the main deck spreads over a single level from the cockpit to the double stairs leading to the lower deck. An interesting feature is the stern dinette, with its electric table that can be transformed into a sun bed in seconds.

Interior designer Carlo Galeazzi has revamped the interior of this model with a strong character, either in bleached oak and glossy ebony contrasting essence with dark chocolate upholstery and light satin lacquers, or in natural heat-treated oak and glossy sycamore, ivory leather and light lacquers. All the lighting fixtures have been completely encased in the ceilings and furnishings. Relaxation, dining and piloting is all on one level so there’s no need to walk up and down stairs. The open kitchen is arranged on four sides as an island, while the living area has a large C-shaped sofa facing another set along the right bulwark which provides a total of eight comfortable seats for passengers. Dining comes with a view with the floor to ceiling windows, letting light shine through.

Technology has also been integrated throughout the design of the boat, with additions like active trim control, an automatic fuel transfer e-pump and an integrated control panel so owners can be rest assured that they’re receiving the latest tech with their new boat.
