Hi Explorer,
In previous emails we communicated the necessary retirement of our old Hema Explorer Cloud platform which supports our HX-1 GPS Navigator and Explorers App. The system is based on older technology which is end of life and as such unstable and needs to be phased out.
Additionally, a third-party provider will this weekend update their own systems, causing further instability and significantly impacting the functionality of the Old Cloud and online features of the HX-1 and Explorer Apps.
What does this mean for you:
- You will still be able to use your device or app offline, however stored trips, tracks and images won’t be accessible on the cloud website.
- The connected services, in particular the map layers, may be impacted due to the closure of the 3rd party services.
- We’ve archived all available information (it’s not lost!) and will determine and share a process for customers to reclaim these in the near future.
- As per previous emails, we recommend downloading and saving your current data to an external PC or storage unit.
To learn more about backing up saved data, you can read about it in our Hema Maps Knowledge Base. Keep up to date! We share lots of information each week so please subscribe to the Hema Maps electronic newsletters here.
If upgrading is on your to do list, we also have some attractive offers to move into the next gen of devices and apps. If you would like to take up or learn more about offers or have any questions about how the retirement of the Old Cloud will impact you, please contact us by replying to this email, visiting our Knowledge Base or calling us on (07) 3340 0000.
We hope you will continue to enjoy the journey with us.
